Hillbilly Rawhide - 2NEW SONGS ADDED! NEW E.P.OUT!

Ramblin', Primitive and Outlaw!

About Me

Confira!

The band Hillbilly Rawhide, originary from the city of Curitiba-PR, appeared in February of 2003, with the proposal to play a style made for a few in Brazil, mixing the roots of Country, Hillbilly, Western, Bluegrass, Boogie Woogie, Trucker' s Music, a lot of primitive Rock' n' Roll, Blues and references of Psychobilly, what generated their own sound.
Using rustic instruments like Banjo, Fiddle, Acoustic Guitar and Bass, Steel Guitar, Piano and even a Cajón, the band started playing their own songs mixed with some versions of its bigger influences, such as Hank Williams (Sr., Jr. & III), Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, David Allan Coe, Johnny Paycheck, Billy Joe Shaver, Merle Haggard, Wayne Hancock, The Meteors, Frantic Flintstones, AC/DC, Ramones, Motörhead, among others…
The objective of the group is to make a revival of this style, not so known in Brazil, but of basic importance in the history of world-wide music.
Since the beginning the Hillbilly Rawhide has been playing in some bars, clubs and festivals around the south of the country, also making some shows in other states like Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. They currently play at least 1 show per week, every saturday afternoon at the bar of the Eisenbahn beer in Curitiba: Casa da Vila (Rua Mateus Leme, 2631) starting at 16:00h, in these presentations it is possible to feel the live energy of the group, that replaced the drums with the Cajón.
The first recording of the band was made in October of 2005, a version of the song “Playschool Baby/' Round Mountain” from the English Psychobilly band: Frantic Flintstones. This recording is part of the ‘Frantic Flintstones Tribute’ "Muh to the Muh", that was released by the German label Red Five Records.
In the end of 2005 they decided it was the time to record their first album, so they did 8 of their own songs and 5 versions. The album, called: “Ramblin' Primitive and Outlaw!”, was released in Brazil at the Psycho Carnival, February 2007, by the local label Funeral Music and in July it was just released by the German label Crazy Love Records, with worldwide distribution. And the European version it's called: "Ramblin', Primitive, Outlaws!".
The band had also putted out an independent MCD called "High on the Road" with 2 tracks from the full-album, but with a different mix: “High on the Road” and “White Lightning”, and the version of “Playschool Baby/' Round Mountain”, that is also on the Flintstones tribute.
Now the band has been playing around to spread their first material. Check it out!
