Hailing from the beautiful Northumbrian countryside in the north-east of England, Dan began his journey in music at a young age. By the time he was 12 he was learning various musical instruments and already putting pen to paper and writing compositions of his own. From then on he was bitten by the bug and was always on the look out for guidance and inspiration.
As he grew older his tastes in music matured and he found himself interested in all things electronic. Using his rhythmic ability he purchased his first set of turntables at the age 14, within the year he was playing every house party/forest rave around and was soon enough getting noticed for his seamless mixing and flow of track selection, Two vital components for today’s DJ.
Now at the age of 23 it is time to take things into his own hands. Over the past 12 months Dan has launched his own record label. TRIPTIK has now had 4 very successful releases and has more quality tracks in the pipeline ready to drop, including his own composition “Jaderâ€. Fan’s of the label such as Hernan Cattaneo, Yousef, Dave Seaman, Dave Dresden, Satoshie Tomiie and Jim Rivers to name a few, already have tracks from this rising label on heavy rotation around the world
As a DJ, Dan has played up and down the UK and has recently arrived back from a 3 month tour of Thailand where he held down a residency at the much known and loved “In Bed with Space†party on the Island of Koh Samui. The style in which Dan has adopted can range from deep house & tech house venturing on into the realms of deep, minimal techno. Using his experience and well trained ear for electronic music, Dan is now coming to the end of a very successful summer in Ibiza where he has held down residencies at the infamous after parties at Es Vive as well as regularly playing day time grooves at the increasingly popular Delano in Playa D’en Bossa. As the season comes to a close Dan has secured a residency at Pete Tong’s weekly giant Wonderland at Eden which has welcomed such major players as Luciano, Groove Armada, Timo Mass, Dubfire… the list goes on… Not content with ending 2009 on such a high, Dan is travelling back out to Asia for the remainder of the year where he will entertain crowds during a 3 month tour including destinations such as Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand.
