About Me

First off, that age over there, is right... YES, I am probably one of THE oldest metal fans you'll meet on MySpace...so, if you have a problem with that - time to leave. Otherwise...feel free to read on...AND...
"Leave your preconceptions at the door..."
Hi, Welcome to the Goats of Metal page... here to share the metal, support new bands AND break down a few age barriers. You see, GOAT here...(that's ME)...wants to encourage as many OTHER would be older metal fans as diabolically possible...(that's possibly YOU)...to see new bands! Nothing too serious - just GOATS and GOATESSES likin' the tunes and givin it the horns...So, if you feel the same way feel free to JOIN THE HERD ;)
...AND if you're a local band with metal leanings and want to be added to the GOAT's list...GET IN TOUCH! Hopefully I'll bump into one or two of you at the next gig - I'll be the old fart in the faded blue Billabong cap if you wanna buy me a beer ;)
I am a HUGE and I mean FUCKING HUGE SikTh fan (you may have guessed)...BUT...
I don't care if you're into black metal, metalcore, stoner metal, hardcore, goth metal, post-hardcore, doom metal, viking metal, screamo, noisecore, old school 80s metal, speed metal, thrash, power metal, sludge, glam metal, death metal, dark metal, prog metal, grindcore or even heavy rock just as long as you have an open mind and are happy to give some of the other metal sub-genres a look in!
We all have our favourite bands and those we hate - some Goats are purists, others extremely catholic in their tastes (like me, I guess) that's fine as far as I'm concerned, provided we accept we're all different and we all get along ;-)
The main thing is to go to gigs , meet people and take back the floor from some of the kids.
SO, get your tired old middle-aged mates out of the pub, off the sofa in front of the telly and drag them to a local gig or two!
OR, of course you COULD do what everybody else of our age does instead...
