About Me

I'm a published author, whose work includes dark fantasy, horror, sword and sorcery, fantasy, and humor. My career in publishing started when I was 23 and sold two short stories, one of them to an award-winning anthology edited by Jessica Amanda Salmonson called Amazons! (DAW 1979). My jobs in the industry have spanned the gamut in addition to fiction, I have been a journalist, a copy-editor, proof-reader, and both in-house and outside editorial in the field of New Age as well as speculative fiction. I have also done book pr, and once got a client on local tv by knowing how to make an alcoholic mixed drink using Moxie. I was told numerous times that I gave great phone.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Fellow writers who are not afraid to discuss the virtues, flaws, and problems of genre openly and intelligently. Only by addressing those protocols, conventions, and other related aspects of what holds us back as genre writers within the larger publishing community, can we hope to transcend the literary ghettos we labor within.
