Band Members: The band was formed in November 1997 by Tom Barton, Kevin Young, Ben Hardwick, Jimmy McGarry and Alastair Machin. They played their first gig in December 1997. In early 1998 Alastair was replaced by Tom Waring on rythym guitar and the band started to play to bigger and bigger crowds.
Perfect Blue was now established with:
Kevin Young - Vocals
Tom Barton - Lead guitar
Ben Hardwick - Bass
Tom Waring - Rythym guitar
Jimmy McGarry - Drums
Early in 1999 Jimmy and Tom Waring departed and Neil Bisset took on the role of drummer for the Aesthetics album.
Influences: Too many to mention,but.... The Velvet Underground,The Doors,Talking Heads,Sex Pistols,The Clash,Robert Johnson,Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Faith no More, Gomez, Machine Head, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, B-52's, Portishead, The Ramones, BB King, Ministry, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Nine Inch Nails, John Mayall, John Martyn, Dire Straits,James,XTC,The Smurfs, Guns 'n' Roses.......(plus Tom really likes The Bangles,but don't tell anyone!)
Nothing wrong with the Bangles.... (Kevin's just annoyed cos he lost the argument that Belinda Carlisle was the lead singer of the Bangles..... she wasn't and i should know being their No.1 Fan)
