Rather Unwise

About Me

The Rather Unwise project started with the objective of uniting different musical experiences into a typically Rock'n'Roll sound and musical intention, giving up on an energetic approach and strong inpact. In some ways, the guitar melodies bring to mind the spirit of some AC/DC tracks, but also with a rhytmic section, given in particular by the drums (Emanuele Castagneti, ex Raw Power), more complex and structured. The vocal element, on the other hand, with raw irreverence evoke undauntedly a Paul Di'Anno-like Punk approach. The first impression, is of already having heard the pieces without this negetively influencing their originality in any way. In fact, it unconsciously reminds the listener of may of the Rock History's cornerstones fuse into an original blend of absolutely explosive mixture. You are now marked on my profile visitor map!

Interview with the Videoclip Director Filippo Chiesa
"I've known the Rather Unwise for what seems a lifetime. At the start I went to all their concerts, then by sheer chance I became their drummer and I stayed with them for a long time but that's another story. My work in the cinema field often keeps me away from home and my old friends. One day I got a phone call, I think from Paolo or maybe Luca, and, in virtue of the fact that I was once a member of the band and in this specific case I'm a dab hand with TV cameras and cine cameras, I was asked if I'd like to shoot a music video for the new Rather Unwise. "Why not?" I replied - I like reunions every now and then. After a short meeting in my studio, we unanimously decided that the best track from the latest demo to make a video with was "Get Off", because of its freshness and punky sound. The Rather Unwise have never had a clearly defined style - each member of the band has always brought along his own store of experience - and therefore they ended up playing "everything", that "everything" ranging from Punk to R n' B. I remember that during the concerts, unlike many other groups, each of us dressed as we thought fit, and that's still true today. Yes, the time had come to take a "purifying bath", if for no other reason than the look. Backed by Emanuele, the new drummer, I explained to the band my idea for a rebirth: a neutral, uncontaminated environment (clearly visible in the video, I believe) where new ideas can be developed. After someone's initial reluctance to put on the snow-white jumpsuits and after a few incidents during filming (like the sudden failure of a hard disk), I think I succeeded, together with and thanks to the Rather Unwise, in packaging a product that blends well with the different tastes and attitudes of all the members of the group."
