Influences: Honestly, I'm mostly influenced by my own life - pretty self-centered, that is; however, I feel a good amount of self-centeredness is often the purest way to true artistic communication. As for my favourite music, here's some (let me know if you too obsess over these): Crowded House & Neil Finn; Tori Amos; Ken Stringfellow; The Manics; Pulp; Smiths; Morrissey; Kate Nash; Aimee Mann; PMMP; Elviira; 22-Pistepirkko; Elvis; Disney's Beauty and the Beast soundtrack (Ashman & Menken); aargh, too many to list, I'll come back later.I collect books and love for instance Sylvia Plath, Nick Hornby, Väinö Linna (Tuntematon sotilas mainly - the best Finnish book), A Room of One's Own by Woolf etc...
Sounds Like: Music journalists, who are mainly men, seem to think that all female music belongs in the same category, especially if the females play piano. No-one claims that Radiohead sounds like Limp Bizkit because they are all-male bands who play guitar, express negative emotions through their songs and use a lot of music technology effects.
