200&... Who still fear the drums??....I AM CURRENTLY (still...) RECORDING DEM !....Traditionnal Guyanese Drums....Water Drums....Amazonian Drums....African Drums....with my vibes....
A bit of "who i am" for those who like reading...
Music fan from my early teens, i slowly discover Soul, Reggae & dancehall (ragga) through my father's & older brothers records collection (Ijhaman, steel pulse, Lkj, Mutabaruka...etc) in the late eighties....Organizing events & concerts @ home (French Guyana)from a young age with my friends (Kikki, then with mister Bodyguard....etc) i got sick of France & Flew (truely, i drove there...it was much cheaper..:) to London in the beginning of the 90's & then drove to Ireland where i studied & stayed 9 years. X Member of a band called "Heavy Flow" @ that time, we auto produced our first Album (Dirty Protest) & toured the country in most of the festivals & tiny venues there, playing & meeting with bands such as Alabama3, Tricky & Massive attack, Israel Vibration, Toots & the Maytals...Young, dynamic & (almost) innocent in those days,I helped organizing the first Rap & R&B night with "Len" in Dublin ("Mau Mau" Party) while chatting as a Mc for the Irish Legendaries "Firehouse Skank" sound system or Rootical sound...etc (reggae wasn't a fashion then...), at the time based in Parnell Mooney on Parnell Street.Militant & activist for Cultural Promotions, i then co-organized with Mr Adekunle (head of the ACP, African Cultural Project in Ireland) the first African Music Festival, while in charge of coordinating & gathering the young African descent community). After having officially created my first recording label company in 1998 (Zion Free Prod) in Ireland, but operating in Paris with Fouyaya & Ben Bossta (STILL ACTIVE !!!), i was running one of the 2 night spots of Dublin "Ghali's") first place where you could eat chapatis & African food till 10am while Djs such as Simon Miligan or Aoife Nic canna were spinning records...etc...
Back home in mid 2002 i'm one of the co-foundater of the Guyanese based Recordind label "Sensitive Records" (with Francky "el Bagnard")I keep producing artists i believe who want to be produced. Today I still organize events...nothing has changed...but my musical taste & influences(through growing up & worldwide travels & encounters) got widened and more engaged....more & more...slowly but surely...geting away from so called mainstream creations...That's why my own music Inspiration is what it is...& left behind for the moment, and that's why My space is in progress...(let's put it like that!) & i'll slowly put on some tunes you can comment...They're unfinished and in the testing phase...(god knows for how long).....
