Sylvan Borg

About Me

After years in the music environment, Sylvan Borg is now producing a number of original pieces. The artist’s extensive experience and refined technique help him take his music to new expanses. He experiments with sound in its purest state, and creates captivating rhythms that give his music a palpable electro feel. The artist can definitely not be said to lack background. He has performed with Sputnik Sweetheart, as front man and guitarist of the four-man band, and later joined renowned Stilair as bassist where they had considerable success in Malta and abroad. He has also performed solo on many occasions, delighting his crowd with brilliant original pieces and that occasional cover version. Sylvan Borg uses primitive techniques and equipment to produce his own music, because: “It is like going back in time, where you had a producer use a multitude of ideas and primitive equipment, enmeshed together to come with something totally unique and awesome, something that at that time, no one has ever come up with because there was nothing to refer to in the first place. What I mean is that, if that producer did not have the primitive equipment in his hands, he would not have had those bright ideas in the first place, because life would have been easier for him. And instead of copying a sound, he had to actually think out how to do that particular sound that was ringing in his mind. If one did not have primitive equipment, one would not come up with this unique, yet simple, world-changing sound” – Sylvan Borg. You can contact Sylvan Borg on myspace.com or else click here
