Built in the 1930's the building that houses The Hippo was the first Night Club in Baltimore.
Over the years The Hippo has had many wonderful entertainers perform, such as RuPaul, Varla Jean, Christopher Peterson, and Martha Wash just to name a few. The Hippo plays host to the Miss Gay Maryland America Pageant and has done so for the past 20 years!
Wednesday night is BINGO! And trust me this ain't your grandma's bingo. Join Roger Dimick, your bingo caller, who will keep you in stitches all night while raising money for the GLCCB and AIDS Action Baltimore. And don't forget the cash prizes and the ongoing full card jackpot that grows weekly.
Thursday Night is Hip Hop night with Dj's Rosie and Kuhmeleon spinning your favorite Hip Hop tracks all night long.
Friday is show night. Meet us in the dance bar for the best night of female impersonations. There is also Karaoke in the video bar, and as always you can relax and enjoy a cocktail in our saloon.
Saturday is Baltimore's Biggest Dance Party. Join us on the dance floor for the Biggest and Best dance party featuring the hottest Dj's on the east coast!
