A. Scott “Kokuluk” Kingston was born in Anchorage, Alaska and lived in Oregon most of his life. His mother, Olga, was raised on King Island, Alaska, thus the “Kokuluk” (Kooh-kuh-loohk) Eskimo name. He started writing music during the summer of 2000 for the play “The Little Mermaid” by William Glennon, that premiered during the winter of 2001 at Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. Since then, Scott has written music for Marc Camoletti's “Don't Dress for Dinner” (Spring 2002) and “The State of Innocence and Fall of Man” by John Dreyden (2003) which was his premier as a music composition major at Western Oregon University.
Scott has studied with Hal Eastburn at Linn Benton Community College, Dr. Keller Coker for Scott's first term at Western, Dr. Arnold Friedman, William Whitley, and Dr. Kevin Walczyk.
Oh yes, Scott finally received the Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music in June 2006 ;)
