QUIVER SOCIETY! - D.I.Y Anti-Conformist Record Collective -
What is Quiver Society? Starting as a vision of Brian Flechtner, quiver society is moving forward as a collective of musicians who are organic in orientation. Those involved take control of recording, packaging and distributing of their music. It is also an organization that provides opportunity for music to be heard in many different formats: live in parks, basements or coffee houses, and recordings through compilations and full length cds of key artists.
What is behind the name 'Quiver Society'? When playing music, brian often moves about-hence the term quiver, he has many children, hence the quiver of arrows as an analogy, and playing music outdoors is not always very warm.
Why did you start Quiver Society? Necessity. I needed an avenue to put out music under, and it could become a rallying point for others to join up under.
How can I join Quiver Society? Become interactive. Play at a show, participate on a comp. cd. Distribute cds.
What is your vision for the future, what should be changed and how do you envision Quiver Society making these changes? There needs to be greater connection between the artists and their listeners. I hope to facilitate this interaction in positive and affirming ways.
