About Me

My name is Jonathan David Meacham. My parents are from Alabama, but I was born and raised in Gary, Indiana and live in East Chicago, Indiana. I play music of many types, but I focus on Black American music because it's in me. I think my first experience with performing music of my own will was when I used to sing and dance Michael Jackson songs for family members and friends as a young child. I had a fisher price record player and one record: "Bad" by MJ. I played the shit out of that record until it was just too worn to play.My Dad was also a musician and my mother appreciated the arts, so everybody in my family was required to play an instrument. I've played the drums since I was 5 or 6. Since then, I have played in many bands. Most of them weren't good. A few were and are very good. I believe that some of my own ideas about music are great and have the potential to be very influential throughout the 21st century. If you like my music, you can find a portion of it on most major digital music retailers here on the internet (iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Napster, etc.) If you are a manager, promoter, record label, lawyer, etc. and you would like to work with me or represent me in some way, contact me at my e-mail address: [email protected]. If you are good musician and you are looking for other good musicians to collab with, please do the same. You can keep up with my music better on my website, www.sonicallyopinionated.com. There, you can find essays, lyrics, charts, live performance dates, announcements, and more music that you probably won't find here. Thanks for your interest in me and my music. I appreciate it.
