It is at such legendary events as the Full Moon, Toon Town, and Wicked Parties that DJ Nobel first found his calling in the midst of the explosive scene that was early nineties Bay Area. Foreshadowing the direction of his career, Nobel's first residencies came early from within an infrastructure which tends to resist change and impede rapid growth. However, in under three years, Nobel rose to legendary status playing at the infamous Sunday T-Dance party at the world renowned club, The End Up, while maintaining five San Francisco residencies simultaneously (practically unheard of prior) and playing at such epic events as Equinox in Hawaii, Ravioli in Seattle, Miami during the WMC 1999, 2001, 2003, and Cool World and Cyberfest I&II in S.F.Citing Jeno and Sasha as mentor and primary influence, Nobel's personal style developed to enable playing alongside world class talent including Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, D:Fuse, Christopher Lawrence, John Kelly, Mark Farina, Doc Martin, Tedd Patterson, Marcus Wyatt, Wicked crew and innumerable others. If categorizing is attempted, Nobel blends a seductive swirl of hypnotic progressive sounds with warm uplifting vocals and grounded organic beats. All are structured around a core of beautifully disciplined and polished San Francisco House. His reserved yet confident demeanor, and deceivingly flawless style, give the impression of a higher knowledge and self-awareness. Almost as if by a brief glance of the crowd (irrelevant of size) he is able to gage its parameters for understanding and enjoyment. Within these he structures an expression of his lyrical message we can at least begin to understand. His reluctance (or maybe indifference) to explain himself in words is only outdone by his ability to communicate pure emotion via masterful track manipulation.One can only wonder if Nobel's move from San Francisco to Seattle in 2000, is anything more than the first of many steps taken towards the top of the global electronica hierarchy. While maintaining several residencies in his new home (Contour Afterhours, Noc Noc after after hours, Ibiza Dinnerclub, Larrys Niteclub, Mantra Lounge, Proper at Trinity), Nobel looks for 2006 to be his breakout year with the release of several long awaited studio projects under One House Production, under the moniker of Mik Lebon and with a trio called "2:1 Crew". Meanwhile he continues to have a tremendous impact on the underground West Coast scene while quietly screaming our invitation to get Nobelized.
