"Well done thy good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23 ) is the most important thing that brown skinned, poet, writer, mother, sister, friend and Jesus lover could ever hear. That is why she has spent her entire saved life as a super sister sold out for Christ and attempting to move in the things that she "knows that she shouldn't know." She is the called. She understands that being a spiritual being connects her to God in ways that only reading the Bible could not explain. She is gifted. Humble. She has the heart of a giver and smiles more than she frowns. Her smile comes from her heart. You always know its genuine. You can feel it without ever seeing it. She is love. The most important people in her life are Jesus (of course) and her two, incredibly intelligent children. She says that her ministry is expression in artistic form... especially words. But without asking, one knows that her ministry is exactly what she says. She tells the truth and thinks before she speaks. "I try not to have too many things out there that I have to regret." And with two incredible magazines under her belt: Testify Sister Magazine and now Raising Poetry - she is using her ministry to cultivate other writers dreams, worth and talents. She is a gift. "My truth comes out on paper." She loves green, and being healthy. That she is. In the past she has also been successful with a line of all natural hair and skin products called HAASA GARA (pronounced as it looks) which was named after a nick name her loving late husband gave her. She is peace. Tara is a ministry within herself. She quickly sites Lauryn Hill as one of her most influential artists. Probably because Tara is jazz. Hip hop. R&B. but mostly she is gospel. You will love her when you meet her. And you will. "The reason I ran from the gift is because I realized that if I did what I was called to do I'd probably be standing alone." That's why she is so quiet. "I don't feel like the words come from me, they come through me." That's why she sits so still. She is constantly listening for the heart of God to speak to her.
