Celio Mattos

Born in Taubaté, in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, in 1960, Célio Mattos started his professional life in the late 1970s. Guitarist, bassist, composer and arranger, he explored the diversity of Brazilian music, as well as rock, jazz, and classical music. Mattos continued his career in France, where he lives since 1987. He started the Jiripoca Band with André Luiz de Sousa in 1995. His music is not only a rereading of Brazilian musical traditions, but also a search in new expressions and discoveries : classical, jazz, world music… Complementing his activities as composer and arranger, he is also a musical producer, from sound takes to mastering.
