Hi, and thanks for stopping by to read my profile. My name is John, or JD if you wish (I like this best . . . too many other Johns in the world ;-)>). I am a San Francisco Bay Area near-native (moved there when I was two months old . . . my born-there siblings refuse to let me claim full status in this regard ;-) ). About three-and-a-half years ago, I moved out to Northeastern Nevada to buy a home. I reside there currently, but still travel back and forth to the Bay Area for both business and pleasure. As for what I do for a living, for the past 15 years I have been working as a technical writer (my master's is in English with a concentration in technical writing . . . last place worked in CA: Stanford Dept. of Physics on an experiment that orbited Earth testing Einstein's General Theory of Relativity with gyroscopes from 4/04 to 9/05 . . . 42 years in the making before launch . . . longest NASA-sponsored mission ever . . . ) . . . Last place worked in Nevada: Proposal Development Specialist at UNR's Fire Science Academy in Carlin, NV . . . I am also a creative writer (what my undergrad is in), an artist who writes about the stuff of which life is made . . . . people and their lives . . . and what they mean . . .
