Dorm Room Riot

About Me

The legacy that is Dorm Room Riot all began in the winter of 2005. One fine afternoon, Peter and Andy were rocking out in Peter's dorm room to a song by a band that shall remain nameless due to legal reasons. As the term 2 talent show was soon upon them, the duo decided to put together a band to compete for the money prize. Singer/songwritter Chris Shelanskey was brought in for his amazing screaming and melodious voice. The band was almost complete. Peter's roomate, Steve Ford, was an avid drummer yet was a little nervous to play in front of crowds. With a little work and convincing, the crew recruited him and formed No Idea. The Band did not place at the talent show. However, this did not discourage them. They hit the studio hard. During the fall orientation at Elmira College in 2005, they performed for the incoming freshmen at the OL Talent Extravaganza and were a big hit. In 2006, they were ready for the talent show again and this time took 3rd place. In the fall of 2006 they again played at orientation and were huge. Soon after they began recording their first EP, In The Common Room. They played at octagon fair and due to the enormous turn out, they pushed the release of their EP to the next talent show at the 2006 parents weekend where they took 2nd place. Recruiting Rhythm guitarist Billy Laham in late 2007 the band now has its full line up and is experimenting with new ideas in the studio. Laham later changed his name to Billy Slick because he felt it had a better image. Running the band is the best manager ever, Ryan Craine. Without him the band would be wandering aimlessly on their own with no direction.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
