Imagine a suited up Hip Hop. One concerned with investments as opposed to shopping sprees, a Hip Hop with class and intelligence.
Introducing, by way of Bridgeport and Manchester Connecticut, a boss, a victim, a soldier and a business man. Mr. L A Wryte, "The Pen."
A former Loan Officer by day, Mr. L A Wryte maintains formal Business attire on stage, not so common for a rapper. On occassion, one may find him adorning a pair of jeans on what he calls his "day off" or "dress-down" days, hardly ever absent a blazer.
He says, "This is me. I'm just comfortable in a suit. If I'm not in a suit it's 'cause I don't consider myself at work at the moment, or it's because I'm promoting my mother's clothing line, even then, I'm probably in a blazer..."
As a new affiliate of the Connecticut First Lady of Hip Hop and Rnb's record label (Rain E. Day Records), Rain spoke on Mr. L A Wryte's attire.
Rain said, "A man in a suit is respected when he's silent. They respect the suit before the man. We should be careful who we give our respect to so quickly, because certain men just adorn respected suits and there are few who are actually respectable. However, when a man of Mr. Wryte's calibre has something to say, we should do more than respect his suit..... we should listen."
Mr. L A Wryte, (formally known as The Prince L A) hopes to provide a balance to the Hip Hop community. He represents every hard working, 9-to-5 man in America. Appealing to women with his smoothe, heavy vocal tone and uplifting words, while also maintaining his credibility, acknowledging corruption and the pressures of monetary security, by living in America.
His first project, since his name-change, is titled "Expected Time of Arrival or ETA: The Mixtape" due December 2006. Mr. Wryte strings the clever concept of a work schedule throughout the CD. Using some recognizable but not so reconizable industry instrumentals, he's compiled a nine track display of audio art, each track representing an hour of the work day.
"I think the mixtape is amazing! It's conscience but not preachy. It's sexy but not raunchy. It's agressive but not vulgar. It's hott and it's balanced! What a really nice set up for an upcoming album! I look forward to [Mr. Wryte's] future in music..." - Rain -CEO of Rain E Day Records
