LOOM

Weavings of Concept and Music

About Me

Loom is a mix of things...concept weavings. Overdriven guitars juxtaposed against sparkly music box riffs with a voice that colours all that is dark, misunderstood and beautiful in the world. Rock that takes some risks and leaves it up to you.Loom is Dave Karr (vocals/guitar/drums), Jesse Karr (bass) and Jordan Irwin (lead guitar). Influenced by bands such as Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Queens of The Stone Age, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Pearl Jam...the songs are big, dynamic, eerie, and concept driven from the start. Loom's first EP "A Tragedy In The Kitchen" was a collection of songs written on the sly while Dave (songwriter) drummed in bands "Raking Bombs", "Ken Latour Band", "Damn Amnesiac" and "A Steady Vertigo" (w/ Jesse and Jordan) over the years. The EP showed the chemistry and promise that lead to their first full length a year later. This new concept album "A Random Life" is a sprawling work about the twisted paths a single life can take. There is lots to bite into on this album and the group covers a lot of distance. Take a listen, and get taken away.
