Born out of the North-East London barrio of Dalston, WIRED COUNTY subscribe to the time-honoured ethic of anytime, anywhere with minimal equipment and a truckload of goodtime downhome original songs. The band was first conceived by cheeky cockney gravel-voiced frontman Laurence Johns and guitar slinger 'Baldy' Jon Shardlow. Inspired by his mother's record collection, Johns drew upon Shardlow's Stones fixation to create some first-rate gutter-fresh country music. With original collaborator Shardlow having left the shores of blighty for the ones of Norway, Laurence and Spike Liseiko ( original guitarist and ex-Lost In Austin), thought it was time to re-ignite the redneck flames of WIRED COUNTY with with some fresh sparks. rehearsals have kicked off with Nico and Greg from the now legendary THERMAL IDIOTS filling in guitar and bass respectively... they bring with them a fresh approach... a slighty 'heavier' approach, and a true love for the redneck honky-tonk style as practiced by hankIII and the legendary shack shakers, to name names... a match made in hellbilly heaven for the WIRED COUNTY sound."The ass-kickin' starts here.
