The Chainsaw Killer emerged from the bowels of hell with J. Scepter on vocals and J. Zummon on guitars, paying tribute to the gods of black and death metal Bathory and Sarcofago. Dark music and high, shrieking vocals characterize the hellish compositions, plus the influence of great heroes of old school heavy metal, the Bay area sound, and the rotten german thrash sound, among others, Metal Church, Slayer, Artillery, Destruction, Testament, Exciter, and Exodus. Corroded by an ancient crew of mutants (Alto Voltaje ), the killer dives into the dark waters of N.W.O.B.H.M. thus, completing the circle that ultimately sealed their fate.
R. Zummon is recruited to demolish the drums, and Darkness (V. Lucipher ) takes control of the bass. With this line-up Chainsaw Killer released their first recording, “Alcoholic Rehearsal”. The putrid sound captures the driving sadism behind the band. The recording is distributed around, obtaining a great response by underground maniacs. Darkness leaves the band and a new fiend, J. Bleed, takes his place and a solid line-up is established.
After extensive rehearsals and many alcoholocausts, the band hit the stage for the first time during the Factor Rh Fest, a gathering of local bands promoted by a local radio show, pleasing the hordes and legions congregated. Chainsaw Killer went on to release a second recording, “Under Metal Assault”, a split CD-r sharing the trench with local madmen Metal Attack. This recording got a wider distribution and brought more recognition to the band. A year later Chainsaw Killer released a demo called “Metal Addicted”. It contains three studio tracks and three rehearsal tracks. An explosive burst of raw visceral heavy thrash. This recording along with some tracks from “Alcoholic Rehearsal” are included in a 3/way split CD called “Blasphemy, Mayhem, and War”, produced by Warhymn Recs., sharing trench with Evil Damn (Peru), and Toxic Holocaust (USA).
