Raised in N/East Iowa.
3-1/2 years college, attended several, to get as much Art as possible. I did't want a degree, 2 yrs. Tech schools, business, bartending, apprenticed for furniture restoration.Raised Methodist, became Catholic for my 1st wife Jeannie,(divorced), became Lutheran for my 2nd wife Caroline,(separated since, Nov. 2006). I live in an ajoining house on the same property. Caroline has one son Eric(26)that I'm proud to call my son. Caroline and I consider our marriage as "open", as we are independant from each other and each travel to do our own interests. We have been friends and neighbors for 10 years.I've done rough frame carpentry(building churches and homes), finish carpentry, designing/building/installing custom made cabinets, consignment used furniture, I've had (3)antique shops, I'm a "picker" for antique collectors (4000+) with (nationwide delivery of unusual antique items), I've had various jobs trying to find my "niche", they took me other states for about 10 years, before opening my "Wood Doctor" Shop in Nov.1979, I expanded my shop to include items salvaged from houses destined for demolition. I then opened "Doc's Architectural Salvage" in 2000. I've removed salvage from 54 houses/buildings and have an extensive inventory. I'm only open by appointment. (can't be everywhere at once).
