The first concert I shot was Trance Dance in 1986 or 1987. I had my dads (he..s the real photographer in the family) gear and manage to hit the front page of Bergslagsposten with my photo of the guitarist (Pelle Pop..) standing in a rain of fire. Metal would you say? Well, not the music anyway ;-).
During the following years (1986-1991) I worked on the music page (Spotlight) that was featured once a week in the daily newspaper Bergslagsposten. I covered everything from Lilli & Sussie, Roxette to Ozzy, Skid Row and many more. My father was always supportive of my photography and learned me the ropes from day one. I have shot so many great concerts, but Alice Cooper, Karlskoga in 1989 stands out to be one of the greatest.
From 1995 to 1998 I had my own weekly radio show, Rock 92.6 at the local radiostation. This was a show all about hard rock and heavy metal.
Summer of 98 I left my hometown Lindesberg and moved to Västerås. For three years I went to the university.
At the beginning of the summer 2003 I met a woman (Linda) who changed my life forever. Three years later on August 12, 2006 we got married. February 26, 2007 our wonderful son Tim was born. He growing up fast to be a hardrocker like his dad... :-)
Now I have my own website patrikhellstrom.com where you can find samples of my work during the years. Visit my website at:
