These days, the Rayon 4 Caisse 12's members aka the red bamboo are training live every Sathurday at the radio station trying some Mashups on two turntables (yes, the radio's studio's got only two of 'em!). We all knows it's easier on three or four ;-). But no stress, take it easy! We're doin' it for you!

Ces temps-ci, les membres du Rayon 4 Caisse 12 aka 'the red bamboo' s'entrainent en direct live chaque samedi soir à des sessions de Mashups sur deux platines(oui, le studio radio n'en possède que deux). C'est vrai que trois ou quatre platines seraient les bienvenues et surtout plus facile pour enchainer les vieux tubes sur les nouveaux. Mais bon, no stress, on gère...

That's it! The RAYON 4 CAISSE 12 Myspace is born. This page has been made to meet some friends, enemies, girlfriends, to find some deejay's who will replace us on Saturday while we're drinking something nearby.
But also to broader our musical style and selection, to book us and finally to show the world that we also have a Myspace page!

Et voilà, le Myspace spécial RAYON 4 CAISSE 12 est né. Il servira de page principale pour se faire des amis, des ennemis, trouver l'âme soeur, trouver le deejay qui nous remplacera un samedi à la radio pendant qu'on se tape une barquette de frites juste en face. Mais aussi afin de promouvoir notre shopping musical, se faire booker, montrer aux autres que nous aussi on a notre Myspace, Na!

The RAYON 4 CAISSE 12 (Department 4 Checkout 12) radio show was launched in 1997 on radio Panik by the deejay crew called 'The Red Bamboo'. Only available in Brussels (105.4 FM), now it's streaming on the net here .
The first concept of the show was: A big shop where you can hear different style of music mixed by different deejay's or ways mostly turned to funky groove breaks.
"Each department its style & each checkout its deejay!". Word off.
Now the show is basically a mix of funky downtempo trip to the hop lounge...
Mixing films sounds, effects and Mashup style, you'll find a unique style of Sound. And that's the Rayon 4 Caisse 12... hosted by the Red Bamboo.
At the Base of the Red Bamboo tree are:

PLAYER ONE
Flunkinhenri

PLAYER TWO
DJ D*rekt
Both into Music since their Childhood, those partners in crime formed the Red Bamboo Collective to broader their musical skills and use it as an excuse to play whatever is relevant for them at that moment.

D*rekt came from a Hip Hop - Turnablist environment and was eager to use his skills to other sounds.
He outlived the Drum'n'Bass craze of the 90's to end up in the world of P-Funk Madness.
On that road he met Flunkinhenri who was quite the opposite.
A die Hard Funkateer who lost himself to the wonders of Electronic productions.
This combination is the foundation of the Red Bamboo that started co working with different talented artists like the COAX VJ Collective wich are now part of the complete Red Bamboo world company.

Flunkinhenri and D*rekt are mostly Radio producers but are also starting to create their own stuff in collaboration with Fred COAX and other Belgian underground artists.
