OLIMPIC

In the summer of 2005, Igor A. and Asier M. started a band just for fun, for the pleasure of deveping a bunch bright ideas that had been wandering their minds for long. By the spring of 2006 has a structure, the addition of Adrián de los O.'s synthesizers lights their way towards more adventurous sonic goals. After recording their first EP with Javier Letamendia (well respected producer in the local indie scene and drummer in bands We Are Standard and El Inquilino Comunista) in November 2007, they start playing gigs around the Basque Country. On the 4th one, they hit a packed Joy Eslava in Madrid and win the most important independent music contest in Spain, Proyecto Demo, organized by F.I.B. and Radio 3. Locally, they also get a mention in prestigious local contest XIX Villa de Bilbao, and are elected for European exchanges. They also win Gaztealdia, San Adrián and Lemon Pop band pageants, and are chosen by Mondosonoro as 2nd best Demoscopic band of the year. On the night they open for Kaiser Chiefs in Bilbao, they start a summer tour that will take them to some of the best Spanish venues, clubs and festivals F.I.B 2007(with rhythm master A. Gurru joining in on drums), Club Fever, Stereo, Ebrovision Festival, Ochoymedio Club, Let's Festival, B.A.M. (Barcelona Acció Musical), Bilboloop, S. Agustín (Ibiza), Le Nörd Fest, Cream Pop...
They have been preparing and recording their first album "Dirty Towels" along 2008, which will be released by indie label Discos Fever this autumn.

En 2005 Olimpic comienza su andadura por mero divertimento para dar rienda suelta a toda una serie de melodías e ideas. Es a mediados de 2006 cuando la banda comienza a tomar forma, la inclusión de sintetizadores en sus composiciones les lleva a tomar un rumbo nuevo y desarrollar un proyecto cada vez más serio. Graban su primer e.p. con Javier Letamendia a la producción (Batería de Standard y El Inquilino Comunista). En 2007 se dan a conocer al gran público y resultan ganadores del Proyecto Demo ’07; Banda elegida para intercambio de conciertos europeos en el XIX concurso del Villa de Bilbao; Ganadores del concurso de maquetas Lemonpop; Ganadores del certamen Gaztealdia ‘07; Ganadores del premio del público en el XIII certamen de San Adrián; Elegidos banda demoscópica ’07 de Mondo Sonoro; teloneros de Kaiser Chiefs; actuaciones en festivales como el FIB Heineken, Ebrovisión, Let’s Festival, Le Nörd Fest, Cream Pop, B.A.M., Bilboloop o en Ibiza; actuaciones en salas como Fever Club, Stereo, Nuevo Garaje, Joy Eslava, Ocho y medio Club, Salamandra...
Este 2008 han preparado y grabado su primer albúm "Dirty Towels", el cual verá la luz este Otoño de mano del sello Discos Fever
