"Squad Up, Squad Up Man....Whatcha Lookin at; Whatcha Lookin at boi, Whatcha Lookin at," "Squad Up," - Myth

It all took place for this emcee back in the 8th grade, while attending Coolidge MiddleSchool of Granite City, Illinois. In a place where Hip-Hop wasn't the genre of choice or yet the most popular, hebegan writing at the age of 8 yrs old. Having written poetry on a regular school assignment, he was soonrealized to have a talent for Rhyming such immense words for such a young age. Not too long after, this boybegan writing lyrics at the age of 10 and before long was to have numerousliterature submitted into a local newspaper.

After finishing up elementary school, ajourney was set into middle school where he was soon to befriend Gene McCallister who in time would be seen asKidBrotha. They both shared their interest in drawing and practical jokes but would come to find out eachotherssimilar liking for music. Kidbrotha eventually brought an idea upon him to start a rap group an try and changepeople's taste of music that lived in Granite City. Rock, Metal and or Death Metal has always been the maingenre's of lyrical content in the city they've both lived in, this being one of the major reasons why KidBrotha hadconfronted Juan Castillo who would cometo be known as todays Myth, about a rapping duo. Sooner or later, Myth agreed to the idea of starting an arrangement ofmusical talent with him and thus being on his way to writing some Hard Hitting and Striking Tracks.

Down the line, certain dilemma's came across the young lyricist. Which involvedbeing seperated from his mother and father and before long putting a years long hold on Myth and KidBrotha'sideas for fame and fortune. Now living with his aunt and older cousin's, Myth was going through some hardshipswith members of his family along with his own struggles, hustling on the streets and thoughts on what was tocome. Still writing, this early teenager was becoming real mature for his age. Seeming to show it off in morejournalism work and lyrics he had put together that was being looked at by a publishing agency but was neverdealt with due to his delinquent age of 12.

Around the corner Myth was about to attend highschool which then lead himrunning back into his rap partner. Things seemed to clear up and get better at home now living with his parentsagain and able to asscioate with KidBrotha. Now with the impact that Rap had started to take on the youngergeneration, it was time they got to getting in on it. The two started to make a buzz at highschool about their musictheir Freshman Year and was getting attention from friends as well as other students. There after, their SophmoreYear they were looking for more talent to include in on there act and had added another memeber to their music team. Theywere then looked at as The 3 Kings. Matters were on a smooth track, then KidBrotha dropped out of school during hisJunior Year and some how things just had not seemd to be going they way they had hoped with this whole musiccareer. Things came to a fall due to certain events with the new addition to the group and was soon dealt with.So again they put everything on hold, this time it was agreed upon by the both of them that they should. Mythwanted to get through the rest of his final two years at highschool, graduate and then continue on with whateverthey had set out to do.

Time flew the next two years. and Myth got through his Senior Year quite alright, he graduated, andthen sought out to do what he intended. KidBrotha and Him both sat down and talked out how and whatthings they were fixing to act on to achieve their goal on adding a bit of Rap & Hip-Hop flavor to the music scenearound town. They planned, rehearsed and went over everything until they thought it was the right time. Sincethey couldn't go by The 3 Kings anymore they needed another name to go by as a pair. They thought long and hardbut nothing, till Myth was hanging out over at KidBrotha's place and was giving him opinions on what he wantedthe Group name to mean and signify. He stated he wanted to be, " The main thing, the issue of everythingbut who wouldn't want that ". Myth had come to like the word issue so he stuck to it. Then grabbed a dictionary andstarted to look up the word Main. Which lead to Cheif and he happened to look at all the suffix and noticed theword General. An there it was, the name he had been seeking, General Issue.

It was now September, and Myth having done recorded a mixtape track entitled "IBring The Pain" with an alignment of rappers called D Streetz E.N.T.. He was becoming known as a solo act bygetting all kinds of recognition from people and constructing a little fanbase due to this hot track he had done. But Myth wasn't just leaving it at that, he was sure to tell everyone he encountered about his group General Issueto try and spread and get the word out amongst town.

It was now setting into mid-October, and with all the noise about Myth and GeneralIssue it was now time for him and KidBrotha to get to business. Recording their first track together since theirJunior Years in highschool, they had put together something titled "Getcha, Getcha!". This was soon to hit allover the place due to eachother building up a MySpace and from all the promoting Myth had already done out anaround the streets fraternizing with the public for the not so old and still fresh song he had done with D Streetz E.N.T..

With a good stressful 8-9 yrs of up incoming music in the making, Myth has stillbeen rapping and persuading lots of the people around him to embrace the Rap/Hip-Hop scence. With one localshow already put in his book he'll also be jottin' down more for the many years to come.

On a side note he proclaims, "Music has always been a Big & Major Part of mylife. By helping me through some of the toughest times, and has helped me enjoy the best of times.I seem to get some of my inspiration or sound from a lot of peoples emotions, moods or problems as well as things from my own personal experiences.Drama, only seems to feed me as a lyricist to write controversal but neverthelesstruthful lyrics! I'm always willing to jump back and retaliate at anything that comes in my path, trying to put a stopto me as an artist. As long as people keep on doing this it'll only make me grow to become one fanominal rapperto take the music world by storm. So basically keep speaking on me, and doing what your doing. But becareful, because I might end up with something that all you haters fear... SUCCESS!"
