About Me

Born and raised in Southwestern OH, moved away a few times and somehow ended up right back here. I’m a married Guitar Pickin’, Barberin', Newspaper workin’ father of two. I’ve played guitar since I was a kid, my life sort’a revolves around music and my two little knuckleheads. I work in a band called The Okeanas (be our friend, follow the link below), we’re sort of Sticky Fingers era Rolling Stones meets IRS era REM while hanging out with George Jones. We released “Butler County” in 2007. I suggest you immediately buy as many copies as you can. I’m a Telecaster and Les Paul kinda guy, I also use a J-150 and whatever I might have laying around. When I was growing up my ol' man was a force of nature & when he listened to music he wanted everybody to listen. Our nieghborhood listened to everything from Doc Watson and Chet Atkins to Doug Kershaw and Lynyrd Skynyrd (and occasionally Led Zepplin). Those who were around the house back then know exactly what I mean. It amsussed the hell out of me.
Until Memorial Day 2008 I also played in two other bands, Big in Iowa and The Tequila Kings. On that day my close friend of over 30 years, Ken “Mr. K” Glidewell was in a motorcycle accident, he made it until the next morning and then we lost him. I knew Ken before either of us started playing music and was in several bands with him on and off since 1984. We released a couple records together; Chem-Dyne’s "Bad Luck with Fast Food" (in '85 I think) and Big in Iowa’s “Geezil Pete!” in 2006. It's just bizarre, there's a big hole in Southernwestern Ohio where he used to be.
