D.O.B: MAY 24 1971The second of three sons for his mom and the first of four children for his dad. Born in Trench Town, Kingston Jamaica.
Moved to "Waterhouse" or "Firehouse" The Musik University at age 5 during the 1976 politrix election/conflict. Won first talent contest at kindergarden age reciting someone's poem. "Labour for Learning."Became aware of his talent for musik at about age 7.
Begin nurturing skills and writing poems between 8 and 11 years young.
Ages 12 to 15: started writing songs and rehersing on sound systems with friends.
Age 17 unwards: Begin recordings for record producers and persueing a carrer as a "Dancehall DJ". Had a couple of singles released.
Formed a caboret group called "SAC" with two other friends. SAC did backup singing for "Bobby Smith" a singer, songwriter, international bodyguard and actor to name a few of Bobby Smith's achievements. During this time, there were no "SAC" releases. "SAC" did nighclub and hotel gigs at "class clubs" & hotel lounges such as, The Carniege Hall, The Epiphany Night Club and The "Jonguno Launge"{Pegasus Hotel} all in the New Kingston area sharing stage with the likes of "Diana King" ect. In the late 80's. AQUAMAN started an independent record label called OUR CHOICE RECORDS. "Writer'iley" would then begin to record the talents in his immediate circle and also did record producion with: Tyrone Tayler, Pan Head, Quench Aid, Chello, Black Mice (the original), Beenie Man Ect. His label would get distribution from "Dynamics" "Tough Gong" or Self. The "MUSIKDOC" of course did record productions for his self/label and did songs for other producers as well, persueing a carrer as a "Dancehall DJ". Aqua went on to having a few solo singles and duo releases with "Beenie Man" at this time. The late 80's. Duo releases includes "Trailer Load Fi Through Off" & "We want peace" -among the entertainers that was, more specifically directed to the fued between "Ninja Man" and "Shabba Ranks" at the time. Aquaman migrated to the US in the early 1990's where his aspiration for stardom as an artist took a, lets say, side-seat for a while as he adopts to the New environment and grow in his talents. Early 1990's. Aqua got focused on another of his talents: namely, writing. His contribution as a songwriter to the industry includes and is not limited to: NO.1 single, " Gal A Tear Of Mi Garments" , "Girls I See" (Ol' Dog 2) "Heaven Verses Hell" and other co-written materials all done by "THE DOCTOR BEENIE MAN." "Gal A Tear Off Mi Garments" became the lead soundtrack for the 'cable movie' "DANCEHALL QUEEN." Another hit single written by WRITER'ILEY ( AQUAMAN) is "JAH JAH It's All About You" recorded by CHUCK FENDA for the KING JAMMY Label. This track gained CHUCK FENDA: 'best new artist of the year' jointly with SIZZLA in 1996. Other artists that have done songs or receive songs written by AQUAMAN includes: LUCIANO "Christ Is Risen" "One More Sign" recorded by NINJA KID, a late 1980's hit song recorded by PENNY IRIE that most industry people don't have a clue AQUAMAN wrote. After a couple years of not recording, Aqua wrote and recorded a combination with long time friend and duo partner "BEENIE MAN" for DONOVAN THOMAS on the D.T. Records label. The title: "Accept Selassie I." AQUAMAN would then go on to do another recording for an independent record label called "UMOJAH" Records. This track was released not only in the US but also in London.During this period, Aqua continued to write and got matured in another of his talents. Writing and performing poems at gigs and his local ORTHODOX church. AQUAMAN would then go on to executive direct independent upcomming record label, Powermix Records, for long- time "SAC" group member & friend Chris Thomas aka "Chrisie- D". "Writer Riley" maintained his services with Powermix Rec. for about four years. Most of the time spent with Powermix involves Chris & Aquaman doing , production, artist molding, event cordination, promotion, strategic planning, board and industry meetings ect. Aquaman is one of the execs. that sat in on the original meetings/negotiations with Lyteyear Ent. (WEA) to negotiate a promotion/distribution deal. This deal became a reality in 2006 for Powermix Records and the project/album, "LOVE & JUSTICE". Writer'iley Co- Write and Produced track 12 , on the "Love & Justice" project. The title, "Refuse The System" done by LENNOX MORRIS aka PRACTIKAL. Aqua' also Produced an R&B track titled "SO LONG", recorded by Lenexa Morris at the "STATUS QUO" Studio in brooklyn. Aquaman also Wrote, Arrange and Produced a song/track for "dancehall DJ" "LADY ANN" Titled "HOLD TIGHT". This track was executive produced by Chris Thomas & Junior Burton for Junior's Legendary Records Label.Aquaman launches an indepent record label in late 2005, righifully called "THE MUSIKDOC" Entertainment Team. Services available through The MusikDoc includes and is not limited to: Production, Artist Management, Dub Plate Specials, Road Management, Artist Molding, Marketing and Promotion, Shopping product for Production/Distribution Deals, Event Cordination and promotion ect. Aqua is presently working on his own cd/album and promise you a display of talents. However, focus your attention on the main artists comming out on The MUSIKDOC Lebel. "SKINO STRINGS" aka "INHERITANCE", "HALILUYAH" aka "LUYAH", Sweet sensation "JAHZZIN", "CHELLO", "VITCH", D.M.R. Ect. All will be featured on MY SPACE soon.
