Growing up as a service brat and traveling around overseas and state side I really didn't see much of my mom and dad's side of the family until we moved back to the states. when I was about 8 yrs of age my dad was stationed at the air force base in Mid West City Oklahoma and on holidays we would go to visit my grand parients in Helena Arkansas. This is where I first got introduced to the guitar because my uncle who was 9yrs older then myself played in a band/ so I tried to tag along with them. A few years later we where living in Abilene Texas and I was 12 when my dad retired from the air force and we moved to Tupelo Mississippi Where both sides of my family are from.
At the age of 13 I bought my first guitar from a pawn shop for 25 dollars. I spent that summer teaching myself how to play it. My Uncle was living in New Port Arkansas at the time so he wasen't there to help me but he was my first influence. Once I learned how to play the guitar I started learning how to play other artist songs. By the time I had turned 15 I was playing in a band . Our first gig was at the Elvis Presley Family Life Center In East Tupelo.
After the band brokeup I mostly just played for enjoyment. I just wanted to write my own songs and play them.
I have written numerious songs over the year's but just played them and put them away. By the time I had turned 42 my Uncle and I got together to play for the first time. He was a bass player and I played rythem. After we had played together for a year we desided to go into the studio and cut a CD of 2 songs that I wrote called Been around The World and Diamonds and Lace. that was 7 1/2 years ago and my Uncle is no longer with us for He is in heaven with jesus now. Which goes to show that things in life dont alway turn out the way we plan.
This myspace and my web page which is not fully operational yet but should be in the near future is a life long dream that I am in pursuit of even though my Uncle wont be here to share in it . Any song that I post here or on my web page will be original material. I hope that you like my music and get some kind of enjoyment out of listening to my songs. I enjoy writting and playing my music for others. This should bring you up to speed on my progress as a song writer and musician to this point in time. I already have enough songs to make an album which is my current objective. In the coming months I will be working on the songs that are to be on my first album.
