The/Despair is an upcoming novel by Anderson Evans. It tells the story of a man named Conrad Conner, but to be more specific than that isn't as easy as one might think. Conner isn't the most tangible literary character you've ever encountered, while the narrator changes viewpoints and characteristics without warning. Suffice it to say, there is a computer, a bodyless super-villain, several marajuana references, and a rabbit in a bowler hat.
The MTV generation may have had Ellis' Less Than Zero, but the next generation, the one that doesn't have time to pick up a book, much less ascribe a particular one to the description of how they might be feeling... they have theirs as well, whether they read it or not.
The/Despair is coming, don't be left sitting around thinking it can't be gotten rid of. Prepare yourself.
