The Literary Six

By, Vince A. Liaguno

"Friday the 13th meets Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians meets the final reel of The Big Chill...with a twist!"

Pulse-Pounding Terror and Suspense from an Exciting New Voice in Horror!

For the faculty, students, and alumni of Bendleton University, The Literary Six was the scourge of its collective existence for four long years.  Notorious across the campus for its snobby witticisms and scathing critiques of the university, its faculty, its students, and its founders, this elite group of college literati fashioned itself in the likeness of Dorothy Parker and the Algonquin Round Table—an irreverent group of playwrights, theatre critics, and novelists who regularly lunched at the historic Algonquin Hotel in the 1920s.  Indeed, graduation day for the members of The Literary Six brought a sigh of relief for many on the receiving end of the group’s caustic pen.

As members of The Literary Six disbanded after graduation and went on to pursue careers as successful novelists, journalists, publishers, editors, and academics, they made a pact to reunite and celebrate the glory days of their scandalous collegiate association.  This year, the six members of the infamous literary club are making their way to Shelter Rock Island, to the home of fellow member and bestselling authoress Taylor Miller and her television producer husband for a New Year’s Eve weekend of rekindled friendships, reminiscing, and unrequited love.

But this year’s annual reunion will be like no other; a face from their collective pasts will be joining them.  And as the island is cut off from the mainland in a winter storm that blankets the New England coastline, the members of The Literary Six will face retribution for the sins committed through their literary transgressions at the hands of a malevolence none of them could have conjured in the deepest recesses of their creative minds.  And as the snow falls in silence around them, The Literary Six will begin to fall…one by one…and a desperate struggle for survival will unfold.

About The Author...

Vince A. Liaguno was born in Easton, Pennsylvania and was raised in both Edison and the Princeton area of New Jersey. As an only child, he enjoyed an imaginative childhood, filled with reading, writing stories, and conjuring up games of make-believe. Vince lightheartedly says that he "survived thirteen years of Catholic education" but credits the parochial school system with giving him a solid education and "a love for all things related to English and the symmetry of words."

He began his writing career writing arts reviews for local publications before landing a steady gig as a contributing editor at Autograph Collector a national specialty-niche magazine for enthusiasts of the titular hobby. There, Vince has seen numerous celebrity profiles, interviews, and articles related to the hobby of autograph collecting published. His many celebrity subjects include Jamie Lee Curtis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Isabella Rossellini, the late Janet Leigh, singer Cyndi Lauper, David Strathairn, Kathy Bates, Olympia Dukakis, the late vocalist Laura Branigan, singer Martha Davis of The Motels, horror scream queens Adrienne Barbeau and Jamie Rose, actress-turned-author Meg Tilly, singer Terri Nunn of Berlin, 80's pop singer Taylor Dayne, and Calvin Klein supermodel/actor Michael Bergin. Recently, Vince interviewed Canadian horror film director David DeCoteau for Logo's  AfterElton.com .

Vince has fond recollections of Saturday's spent with his dad during their weekly "buddy days" during which the elder Liaguno introduced him to the world of movies. Vince especially enjoyed the horror movies of the early eighties, developing what he jokingly refers to as "a lifelong obsession" with all things related to scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis. It was his fondness for the slasher films of this era, like Friday the 13th and Halloween, which served as the inspiration for The Literary Six.

Vince currently lives on the eastern end of Long Island, New York, with his partner of 21 years and their two Cocker Spaniels, Sydney and Kirby.
