Born and raised in NYC, Sheldon has been playing the bass for the last 18 years. First drawn to this instrument after hearing Familyman Barrett on Bob Marley & the Wailers' "LIVE" album, it has been reggae music ever since! But, to know reggae one must know rocksteady and ska as well. Initially, a self-taught bassist, Sheldon eventually had the opportunity to study under Victor Rice, which was quite beneficial for him in many ways. With Rice's seal of approval he was added to the Stubborn Allstars camp and has been making moves ever since. Sheldon has toured, performed and recorded with numerous bands & artists including: The Stubborn All Stars, The Insteps, Dave Hillyard & the Rocksteady 7, Rocker-T & the I.R.T. Band, The New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Laurel Aitken, Lord Tanamo, The Toasters, Skinnerbox, The Slackers, Shinehead, Sleepy Wonder, The Jr. Skatalites, Version City Rockers, T-Man & the Aggression, Patrick Jr., Dub Is A Weapon, Jammyland Allstars, Rob Symeonn, Judah Eskender Tafari, Dollarman, Mist@Rhee, Ticklah, Mr. T-Bone Allstars, Susan Cadogan, Glenn Adams, Mikey Jarrett, and more. While currently living in Italy, Sheldon is now playing with Giuliano Palma & the Bluebeaters. Sheldon has also toured extensively through the United States, Canada, South America, the Caribbean & Europe. Performing at world famous festivals such as: Sierra Neveda World Music Festival, Reggae on The River, Raggamuffins Bob Marley Day Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, SummerJam (Koln, Germany), Arezzo Wave Love Festival and Rototom Sunsplash to name a few. Armed with a custom Noel Reddy (of Jimi Hendrix's fame) limited-edition sunburst Fender Jazz bass for the stage, Sheldon brings some serious low end that many have compared to Flabba Holt.
