Fingertwister is the project of Swedish producer Daniel Skantze. Add an cup of dub, a spoonful of trip hop/jazz and a small touch of breakbeat and you have the Fingertwister sound. Skantze has been musically inclined since picking up his first sax at age nine. He has played in different bands of various styles, ranging from jazz to pop and experimental rock. While saxophone is his main instrument, he also sometimes plays the guitar, piano, and the trumpet.
Skantze's interest in electronic music developed slowly but steady through the years. In 1996, he finally began to making his own electronic music in earnest. He was soon to realize the importance of web distribution and had his music featured
on several sites. The most well known ones being mp3.com (where he had over 100 000 downloads / plays) and epitonic.com .
Apart from numerous releases on compilations, Fingertwister has had his music featured in the documentary section on various DVDs such as the Matrix Revisited, Animatrix and Spiderman among others. In September 2006, his first EP was released on his and DJ Seb from Son Kite's label Chillosophy Music . It reached #1 on the Deutsche Chillout Chart
