What started in 2003 as experimenting with electronic music production has turned into an incredible success for Mandy with Releases on major trance labels such as Bonzai and Spinnin as well as major house labels Size and UMM. Her releases supported by the Worlds leading Dj's including Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk, Trevor Rockliffe, Steve Angello, Eddie Halliwell, Fergie, Robbie Rivera, Marco v, Judge Jules, Sander Van Doorn to name a few…
“Mandy Reid is one of the UK's most exciting new producers; she is one of the most exciting electronic artists to come out of Ireland for many years…..she is a fantastic DJ and an incredible producer to boot”- Carl Cox comments on his Global internet radio show.
In March 2006 Mandy experienced what most up and coming artists might only dream about when Carl Cox featured her on The Global Lowdown segment of his internet radio show, where he dedicates a half hour mix to tracks chosen from his favourite DJ's, producers and labels worldwide.
The excitement continues in 2007 as Mandy gets the biggest compliment ever when the world's number one DJ Paul Van Dyk chooses Mandy for his new producer feature whilst standing in for Eddie Halliwells Residency show on BBC Radio One!! Paul compiled a 20 minute mix with 4 of Mandy's tracks for the show, familiarizing the name Mandy Reid the world over!!
Paul van Dyk consistently features “Up the tempo” in his DJ sets around the world. The track is also supported on his German based Fritz- Sound garden show. With the help and support of Radio One's Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell, as well as Paul's Radio One feature, Mandy's third release with Bonzai Records, “Up the tempo” has emerged as one of the biggest club tunes of the year. This was confirmed during Judge Jules BBC Radio 1 show on the 22 nd December when Paul Van Dyk named “Up the tempo” as his tune of 2007, a perfect end of an amazing year for Mandy.
“Tornado”, the newest club bomb from Mandy is causing a storm already, with huge support from Paul Van Dyk, now signed to Spinnin's Reset label branch; it is set to be yet another future club anthem in the making.
Since Mandy's first release as Disco Construction in 2004 with Size Records, the long awaited follow up to “Can't get enough” is finally here and we can honestly say it is worth the wait, already being pioneered by Paul van Dyk in his shows and sets, swiftly snapped up by Media's house label UMM and due for release in the fall of 2007!!
Mandy is proving to be a dab hand at remixing for amazing singers including Shelly Harland-“Different World”, Kirsty Hawkshaw-“Loverush” and Andrea Britton-“Deeper” as featured with Loverush UK.
Advertising firm Lyle Bailie International requested Mandy to remix the track Gary Moore-“Friday on my mind” for their Road Safety Television advertisement, the ad is regularly scheduled on the air.
Bonzai Records invited Mandy to Dj at their area at Tomorrowland festival, Belgium which was one of many high-lights of 2007 including another hugely memorable gig at Planet Love festival and some very cool gigs at the renowned Coach.
2007 has without doubt been the most successful year for Mandy and I have a sneaky suspicion we will be hearing a lot more from her in the future….
