Our focus is to establish a well - balanced basketball association that will participate in sound basketball development ventures and have sound financial structure to take it through the millennium and into the future. To fulfill our community service obligation by providing a small parcel of employment for the unemployed, by providing expert advice, training and support to scholarship awardees, state, national. Also to increase the retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in all basketball levels in all states and the broader spectrum of Australia.Association Motto“Helping to build bridges between the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and mainstream Basketball agenciesâ€Purpose To create the opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to enter into basketball where Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Basketball Inc will bridge the divide between the basketball world and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities via its understanding of all aspects and cultural differences placed on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander basketball people.Our vision benefits in the following ways:1. To foster better cultural understanding between the basketball industry and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.2. To create long termed scholarship positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the basketball industry.3. To help current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander basketball players stay sustainable in their current positions and help them to foster better avenues to the mainstream basketball industry.4.
