Few musicians have dedicated their lives to developing their own language, regardless the music environment’s acceptance, a world where criticism never rests. This is the case of Carlos “Nacho” Riveros. Ever since his very youth, he started a journey of musical language through low and melancholic sounds coming out of his bass guitar. He was born in Maracaibo -Edo. Zulia-, Venezuela; A completely tropical region, where music like ‘Gaita Zuliana’ with percussive instruments like ‘Tamboras, Furros and Charrascas’ and likewise Latin-American elements such as the Conga and the Timbales are the mainstream influence on every growing person in the region. In a constant quest for the sonic fact, he began his career as member of different Local Folklore Groups. However, once expired the learning years, he found himself seduced by Jazz and Rock; an obsession he has maintained and rebuilt within his very schemes. He’s had the traveler’s experience, which has contributed to a new groove (sabor) to his own sound; that difference of being able to see the world of sound from its infinite perspectives. He has resided in Bogota, Colombia, since 2000. Along with being a Producer and a Session Musician, he’s curriculum includes: Harmony, Structure and Styles and Electric Bass guitar Teacher in institutions like Guerrero Art School and currently in EMMAT (Modern music, Art and Technology School) in Bogota.
