My name is Taygan Bassi.
I am Stray Cat Photographics.
I'm a nineteen year old award winning creative photographer from Adelaide, Australia.
I like to give my photography a creative flair, and one day I hope to be a professional fashion and portrait photographer.

Recently, I got a job at a photography studio here in Adelaide, called Studio 2000. Soon I will begin my training to be a photographer there.
What I use
I currently use is a Nikon D80 DSLR with;
- Nikkor 18-135mm lens
- Nikkor 50mm 1.8 portrait lens
- Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 macro lens
- SB-600 external flash
Achievements
- Secondary Student category winner - 2007 "Nikon Hot Shots" photographic competition.
- Highly commended top 100 photos of the "Nikon Hot Shots" competition.
- Royal Adelaide Show - 2006 Year 11 wildlife portraiture winner (film), 2007 first and second in the year 12 colour portraiture category.
- 3 photos in the semi-finalists of the 2008 Moran Prizes Contemporary photographic competition.
Studies and experience
I consider myself self-taught with my digital photography, however I have done film photography in high school. I just completed my first year of a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Photography Specialization. I received a Credit for Black and White film photography, a Distinction in Digital Art, and a High Distinction in Computer Manipulated Photography.
I have been asked many times about how long I have been in to photography. I have been interested in it on and off throughout high school, but I would probably say I've been seriously in to creative digital photography since mid-2006.
Editing
I edit my photos using Photoshop CS3. I have been using photoshop for about 6 years now, so I would say I am fairly experienced with the program. Unlike some, I don't have a problem with editing photographs. You can edit photos to a degree in the darkroom, so I just use a digital darkroom to do pretty much the same thing. Sometimes I will edit my portraiture more as I love to give my work a more surreal feeling.
