CARLOS PIMENTEL (MININO) *Ganador del Premio Casandra 2007 al Mejor Video del Año. *Ganador en los Premios Latinos de NY como Salsero Revelacion del Año 2007. *Y nominado como Salsero del AÑO 2008 en la R.D. MININO gran musico, cantante, productor, compositor y arreglista. Es sin duda alguna, uno de los musico mas completo que tiene que ofrecer la Republica Dominicana. Amante de la buena musica Dueño de un talento muy especial. Talento que fue probado en su primera produccion musical “Radical” donde pudo demostrar todo su talento en todas su plenitud, ya que fue el compositor, productor y arreglista de todas las canciones del disco, ecepto “Las12 de la noche” la cual le hizo los arreglos musicales y cuyo compositor fue ese gran musico cubano “Danny Rojos”. MININO dirigió las grabaciones de todos los arreglos, incluyendo los vocales de los coristas. El grabo la trompeta y el flugelhorn de algunos de los temas incluyendo un solo bellísimo en “No me dejes”. La presentación de los vocales de Minino son de alma y pasión. Su voz puede sonar como una combinación entre Isaac Delgado, Rubén Blades, y Cheo Feliciano . Su carrera de musico comenzó a la tierna edad de los 12 años cuando el escogió la trompeta y estudio solfeo general bajo la meticulosa y critica vista de Barco Viejo, su padre. Un bajista extraordinario el cual es un icono virtual en la Republica Dominicana y es admirado por los Músicos de Todas las generaciones. Desde sus inicios en la carrera de la musica, MININO ha tenido que luchar contra la corriente. Puesto que desde su niñez dio muestra de su rebeldía musical por lo que el ha desarrollado un estilo muy propio y personal, que se refleja en cada una de sus canciones. A la edad de quince anos, Minino ya se estaba presentando con su padre en la banda de Jorge Solano, y a la edad de diecisiete se convirtió en unos de los miembros de la banda de jazz en el Hotel Jaragua donde el compartió la tarima con músicos estelares como Tavito Vásquez, Héctor DeLeon y Jean Gómez. Minino era el copista musical de su padre y luego realizo la misma función para Héctor DeLeon. De esta forma fue como aprendió a realizar un arreglo y después de un tiempo, experimento con sus propias composiciones y arreglos. MININO se convirtió en un trompetista y un lector de musica excelente. Lo que le permitió haber tenido el privilegio de trabajar y compartiré escenarios junto a grandes estrellas artísticas que conocemos hoy como: Celia Cruz, Dave Valentine, Patato Valdés, Jhonny Ventura, Franklin Negrón, Ramón Orlando, Rubí Pérez, Dionis Fernández, Alex Bueno, José Porte, Jeffrey, Wilfrido Vargaz, Joseito Mateo, Marvin Santiago, Aramis Camilo, Peter Cruz, Cheche Abreu, Sandy Reyes, y Iris Neida para nombrar unos cuantos. El ha aparecido en videos musicales como el de Wyclef Jean y Tego Calderon. Fue comisionado por Universes Theatrical Group para trabajar en Amherst University, como creador musical junto a Paul Thompson de la obra teatral de off Broadway “Eye Witness Blues”. MININO ha sido una influencia y una inspiración para muchos, por su valentía y honestidad a la hora de hacer su musica .El es sin duda un poeta que toca todo Corazón. MININO is a great musician, singer, producer, composer and arranger. He is without a doubt one of the most complete musicians that the Dominican Republic has to offer. Lover of great music and owner of great talent. His great talent was challenged on his first musical production “Radical”. Where he was able to prove and show his talents in their complete splendor, since he was the composer, producer, and arranger of all of the songs on the record with the exception of “Las 12 de la noche”. MININO did the musical arrangements to this song of which the great Cuban musician “Danny Rojos” composed. MININO also directed the recording of all of the arrangements, including the background vocal arrangements; he recorded the trumpet and flugelhorn on some of the tracks including a beautiful Flugel solo on “No me dejes”. Minino’s vocal performances are passionate and soulful and his voice may be compared to a combination of Isaac Delgado, Ruben Blades and Cheo Feliciano. His musical career began at the tender age of twelve years when he chose the trumpet and studied general solfege under the meticulous and critical eye of Barco Viejo, his father. Bassist extraordinaire who is a virtual icon in the Dominican Republic and is looked up to by musicians of all generations. Since the beginning of his musical career MININO has had to struggle against the currents. As a child he showed himself to be musically rebellious which has unfolded into a very personal style of his own, and is reflected in each and every one of his songs. By age 15, MININO was already performing with his father in Jorge Solano’s band, and by age 17 became a member of, The Jazz Band at the Hotel Jaragua where he shared the stage with stellar musicians such as Tavito Vasquez, Hector de Leon and Jean Gomez. Minino was his father’s musical copyist and he later performed the same function for Hector de Leon. In this way he learned how arrangements were put together and after a while, he experimented with his own compositions and arrangements. Minino became an excellent trumpet player and musical reader, which has allowed him the privilege to perform alongside and share the stage with some of the greatest artists we know today as: Celia Cruz, Dave Valentine, Patao Valdes, Johnny Ventura, Jorge Solano, Franklin Negron, Ramon Orlando, Ruby Perez, Dionis Fernandez, Alex Bueno, Jose Porte, Jeffery, Wilfrido Vargaz, Joseito Mateo, Marvin Santiago, Aramis Camilo, Peter Cruz, Cheché Abreu, Sandy Reyes, y Iris Neida to name a few. He has appeared in musical videos for Wyclef Jean and Tego Calderon. He was commissioned to work with Paul Thompson by Universes theatrical group to work at Amherst University so that he could write and produce music for an Off Broadway theatrical work called "Eye Witness Blues. "MININO has been of great influence and inspiration to many for his courage and great honesty when it came time to create his music. He is without a doubt a poet who touches every heart.
