Wahijuara is an 5-piece group which plays a wide range of Afro-Latin, funk based, Caribbean songs, and Jazz standards. The band is composed of guitar player Junji Lerma, bassist Francis De Veyra, Ritchie Gonzaga on trumpet,Anthony Morris on Alto-Sax, Arwin Nava on drums.The band was formed in 2001, all colleagues from the University of the Philippines College of Music. Bonded together with their common love for playing and sharing Jazz. They have studied Afro-Latin music through various workshops in and out of the country, most notably with Bo Razon and Puro Ritmo. The goal of the group is to reach people thru the exhilarating rhythms of Afro-Latin Music.
