About Me

" .. ... ... ... ... ... .... ... ... .... .... .... ..... .... .... .... .... .... .... ..... .... .... ..... ..... ..... ...... ........ ....... ...... ..... .... ....... ..... .... ... "I saw this band & I was convinced they are wild rockin' dudes. The songs are hardcore punk. Regan Youth meets Gov. Issue, a sound I really dig. Good up and coming NY band. The singer goes really nuts and they are not striaght edge. I love 'em. Hoo Hah" - Sex Bomb, Dumpster Dive Magazine."..this Westchester, NY based punk band is fun to listen to and easy to get in to. Fast and upbeat songs feature fun lyrics and a tight sound. The band also puts on a fun live show. These guys are really enthusiastic about their music, love their audience and it shows" - Eye Deal Magazine."Wow, this is kinda weird. Some of this is old style NYHC, I'm talking early 80's like The Mob and Urban Waste. While the others are more like the current punk stylings of all the new "punk gods" So I dig the old stuff and the girl in front of the porno shop. The rest I leave for (you) punkers..." See That Magazine.SKIN KANDY is one of New Yorks most exciting live acts. Like a runaway roller coaster, SKIN KANDY's blend of punk. metal, pop, and rock n' roll twists, turns, bends, shakes, and rocks you at 125 miles per hour. Originaly formed in 1995 by lead singer MARK GAVONE as an excuess to live his sexual fantacys out in public. The other members were culled from a who's who's of NY punk and Hardcore bands. Rich McGloughin (BREAKDOWN, RAW DEAL/KILLING TIME) on bass or guitar, Mark Sisto (MAXIMUM PENALTY, JOE COFFEE) on bass and Joey I. (UNHOLY SWILL, AWKWARD THOUGHT) on drums provide the full-on punk and roll power for Gavone's unintentional self-mutilatio, punctuated by flying blow-up dolls, blow-up sheep, and other deviance. They released the song "ROTOR" on the "IT COMES FROM THE EAST" compilation lp/co on INTENSIVE SCARE records and got some great review. FLIPSIDE magazine said it was the "Catchiest song on the album" and NEW YORK PRESS singled them out as well. BLACKOUT! RECORDS thought they sounded like The New Bomb Turks meet Motley Crue, so they released the "TAKE YOUR HABIT HOME" CD in 1998. Produced by DEAN RISPLER, the cover featued a nun standing in front of a porno shop. The inside pictured the same woman sans habit (and a few other pieces of clothing as well). The album rocked and got great reviews. SKIN KANDY played tons of shows with their friends MURPHY'S LAW, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, A.O.D., KILLER KOWALSKI, FURIOUS GEORGE, H2O and KILLING TIME and things were going great until...well to be honest, crack. So now they're on again (the band that is, not the crack) If you don't have the album "TAKE YOUR HABIT HOME" drop 'em a my space message with you name and address and they will send you one for free! That's right the original 16 song cd plus two bonus cuts mailed right to your door just for the askin'! Also, check out the View More Pic section for some great photos and flyers. And remember, "SEND IT IN!"
