It's a hollow play, but they clap anyway

About Me

I hate everyone. Except for the people that I think are okay.";

My Interests

"enter a bunch of cliches and meaningless poetic girly bullshit here"

I'd like to meet:

someone who has some answers. some. not all. there is a comfort in the constant questioning of my mind that I'd rather not give up.oh, and someone who can leave good comments. seriously, all of my comments are gold. If a new one is submitted that is not up to par, it WILL be deleted.

Music:

HERE COME THE LASERS!!!!!!! St. Vincent, Architecture in Helsinki, BRIGHT EYES......I'm From Barcelona. Peter Bjorn and John. Amy Winehouse. Emily Haines. The Shins. Arcade Fire. Self. Lily Allen. The Bird and the Bee. Tahiti 80. Sondre Lerche. Modest Mouse. the dresden dolls. rilo kiley. starlight mints. the decemberists. ******The Arctic Monkeys are awesome but THE FREQUENCY IS WAAAAAAAAY LESS WEAK.******* Cat Power. The Ditty Bops. SUFJAN STEVENS. my brightest diamond. muse. syd matters. imogen heap. Feist. Nellie McKay. Badly Drawn Boy. Iron and Wine. The Faint. The Gorillaz. Air. Massive Attack. Brazilian Girls. Spoon. Franz Ferdinand. Aqualung. the list is endless ... ;

Movies:

the music list is more important, although I do recognize art on film. if it makes a point and the acting talent is actually present, then I will enjoy it. I like The Princess Bride, Life Is Beautiful, Little Miss Sunshine, Thank You for Smoking, and anything by Tim Burton or Quentin Tarantino.

Television:

Six Feet Under is the greatest show ever made. But you know Spongebob? That's some genius right there.

Books:

I like Vonnegut a lot (what a loss). I read whatever is passed on to me, generally, I have recently read: "Killing Yourself to Live" by Chuck Klosterman, hilarious, "Mysterious Skin" by Scott Heim, which destroyed my life for a week, and "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath is one of the most brilliantly written pieces of literature I have ever read. "The Color Purple" made me cry and "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" by Dave Eggers made me kinda loathe memoirs. Although I love his writing style, no matter how many times my brother calls him pretentious.

Heroes:

"The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men." -Alice Walker, The Color Purple

My Blog

shows in so called music city....

A Fond Farewell to the Meat Haven

MMW at the crappery ballroom

Well, that's not a very nice title. This show actually made me hate the cannery ballroom a little bit less. The sound was much better this time, and I was actually able to worm my way up to the front....

The magic of the Ryman

There's nothing like a show at the Ryman auditorium to remind you of how great it is to live in Nashville. I have never seen anything at the Ryman that didn't completely blow me away. So, of course, w...
