About Me

Uniquely differentiated from all other rappers by his deep/raspy voice andmelodic hooks, Syxx depicts all aspects of life in his lyrical works, and illustrateshis feelings via his voice alone. Born of Nigerian descent in the metropolitanarea as Chi Onukwufor Jr, he is extremely conscious of his roots; so much sothat it is advantageous to his career and longevity. “Ain’t nothing stronger thanAfrican support,” he exclaims. He was brought up in the “Uptown Region” of theDistrict of Columbia experiencing, firsthand, the hate, struggle, and physicalconfrontations that accompanied development in the city. “People see D.C. andthink White House, the whole time,” Syxx says, illustrating his feeling ofannoyance on his face, explaining the perspective of many that have not beenin the city. “I’m here to explicitly illustrate the Capital State of Mind and not justUptown, but all over the Metropolitan area,” Syxx explains, telling of his times“Uptown” (Northeast & Northwest), on the Southside (Southeast & Southwest),and his new life in the Prince George’s county of Maryland. “PG County, huhman,” he chuckles, explaining why he is doing so. “Certain parts of PG aresomewhat similar, in lifestyle, to DC,” emphasizing the lifestyle similarities asopposed to the appearance of these “PG hoods”. “Don’t get me wrong though, the whole time it’s some PG hoods that look [jy] hostile,” giving examples ofcities such as Capitol Heights, Landover, Palmer Park, etc. He tells that “inactuality, there are a lot of hoods in PG that look [jy] rough.” “I f***s with PGfor the simple fact that this is where I started taking this rap game seriously, writing more frequently, recording and pushing mixtapes, doing shows in DCand Mo County (Montgomery), and developing my flow altogether,” explaininghis come-up locally. However, he does explain that he has a ways to go as faras flow. “This is why I gotta stay efficient,” He reiterates, “because my constantgrind necessitates success, you hear me?” The 18-year old lyricist is not only“on his grind” with the game but he also attends Bowie State University (Classof ‘10) with a major in Communications. “People constantly say I might makesome money off the voice but I never looked at it from the corporateperspective,” he explains, “So I thought about it and made the decision twomonths after school started.” Nevertheless, Syxx is still on his “constant grind”while on campus. He is under management with HanSolo (hansolotv.com) andhas an official Myspace site (myspace.com/syxx6syxx) with a few lyrical workson it. “Go ahead check it out and be a critic” he instructs, “I’m all for it becauseit can only get me better.” The artist says he plans to construct a 2007 mixtapewhich will be recorded during his summer break. “Get ready for the movement:The Capital State of Mind, Early!”LOVEMYFLASH CODE
