Joe Hart - First Class Guitarist

About Me

"Joe displays a blistering array of metal licks and tricks."
- Metronome Magazine (the largest local music magazine in Boston)
"Joe Hart's guitar sound is as big as the Grand Canyon, and twice as deep!"
- Boston's Sound Check Magazine (another local magazine)
These are just a few of the accolades that Joe Hart as received for his incendiary guitar playing. He has recorded and released thirteen CD's, written and published four books, builds and customizes guitars, designs and builds various music-related electronics, and all sorts of other "mad scientist" type stuff.
About 10 years ago, Hart decided to form Rabbath Recordings (the name is an amalgam of two of his favorite bands, Rush and Black Sabbath). "I decided that rather than putting my future in the hands of some faceless corporation, I would just form my own multi-functional company where I could do anything I wanted without running it by a committee," he says.
Hart is quite respected among his peers. He's "the best guitarist ever," asserts Chris Poland, former guitarist of the multi-platinum Heavy Metal band Megadeth, who then underscores this statement with an emphatic "no, really!" During a 2006 trip to L.A. to take part in a guitar seminar hosted my Uli Jon Roth, Hart even had to show Chris Impelitteri (voted the 2nd fastest guitarist ever in a Guitar World Magazine poll) a thing or two.
More recently, Joe Hart was a runner up in a world-wide guitar contest sponsored by Deep Purple's singer, Ian Gillan, where Hart had to record his guitar playing over a new version of "Smoke on the Water." While Hart got a lot of positive feedback from his entry, John Trickett, Chairman and CEO of recording company Immergent, summed it up by simply saying, "amazing solo – man you can play!"
Joe Hart is currently working on a whole bunch of crap. Check his blog at the top of this page for details.
