About Me

Working/playing and as Host with Pucketts Farm Equipment owner Gary Puckett for his open mic every Thursday night in Charlotte NC. Starting my fifth year as of Nov 6th with Gary. I'm available for private parties and as emcee for music venues. I'll host other open mic's when available. Been working with Hobo Bill & Kristin Morris with Railroad songs and stories. They record through Ivy Creek recording and have several CD's out. A fun venue for me. With them I'm into Story telling, Playing bass, my electric washboard, spoon's and slide kazoo. Recently I worked with Marsha Ellison & Sonny Falls in the trio Hobo Jungle. And with THOSE GUYS a Mostly country Group. With some Old Tunes--New Tunes & In--between tunes. I started performing in music at the age of 12 keeping rhythm to Sweet Georga Brown on a wooden stool in a local bar called the Old Shack where I grew up getting nickles and dimes tossed to me by the customers. Then at the age of 16 I got hit really bad with the bug and bought my first guitar. As with most musicians my life started it's done hill slide from there. And I'm Still trying to hit bottom. Traveled to California in the late 50's and formed The Magic Rhythms and later on the Thundermen thru the early 60's. Moved to Nevada in 69 and stayed there for 30 years. Did some oldies but goodies shows in Reno and worked on a cattle ranch in Elko NV that was once owned by Gene Autry. Found out what it takes to be a cowboy. Enjoyed the desert and the history of Nevada. Got into prospecting and ghost towns. The pioneers going west were incredible. Life brought about some unexpected changes in late 99 and I followed a lady to Charlotte NC. after a 47 year separation. Entertaining has always been in my blood. I have met and had the privilage of playing with some of the finest muscians/writers in this country. Most of them right here in the Charlotte area. Music in my opinion is the only form of the arts that can open every emotion in the human soul. Folk Lore--Country--R&R--Americana--Blues--Blue Grass--Jazz. I have always felt a person can never have enough friends. I'm not talking about just people you know. I mean people you treat and are treated like family. As Roy & Dale would say Happy Trails to You.
