Grindstone is the youth ministry at the Real Life Church in Springfield, Illinois. It is a ministry that exists to empower students to take a stand for Christ in their lives, and make a difference in the world around them, while helping them to develop deeper relationships with God.The name "Grindstone" is inspired by Proverbs 27:17, where we are challenged to daily keep one another accountable to the commitment and promises we have made.Grindstone is a very active youth ministry, with plenty of things to help with your walk with God.Grindstone meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Youth/Children's Worship Center
Small Groups for 7th through 10th graders meet every Sunday during the 10:30 worship time in the Youth Room
Small groups for 11th grade through College meet every Sunday night at 5:30 (place of meeting changes regularly, contact the church for more details).Friday Night Fun (FNF) is a great way to meet and hang-out with other Christian kids. We do a lot of fun things on these nights ranging from scavenger hunts to pool parties to overnight lock-ins (pizza always seems to be involved no matter what we do). Watch the calendar for the next FNF!!!!Trips, trips, trips, we love to take trips!!! Every year we attend the General Baptist National Youth Comference in Roach, Mo. and have a retreat or two of our own at Camp Cilca, not to mention other trips like Acquire the Fire, or concerts that sound like lots of fun.
