L'EAU is written, performed and produced by Donna Cadogan.
I have created this album of ambient/electronic songs, inspired by the beauty of water.
Water is our primary basis for life on Earth.
The minute water had been found on Mars, scientists declared that the possibility of life in some form was present.
Water is covering 71% of our planet.
A newborn child consists of 97 % water; an adult of 75 % water and even our bones consists of 22 % water.
L’EAU:
I wanted to create a sound that was electronic, but still organic, that was body and soul, pulse and breath, water and soil, love and joy.
Organic:
The organic sounds are water, in all different kind of forms.
From, the surf of the ocean, to drops of water hitting a stone floor.
Glasses of water, rain, scuba gear, waves, and oars on the surface of a still lake. And, my voice.
I have looped, sampled, cut and pasted -to create a pulse of water.
The backing voices, I tried to create an effect of a blanket you could wrap yourself in, a warm cover of soft voices.
Electronic:
I searched for sounds that were not too heavy, but still able to blend in between my voice and the water.
I wanted to create a vibe that was experimental, but still beautiful, calm and calming.
I also wanted the songs to have physical side, to breathe, to move and to shake.
