About Me

If it's hype you're looking for on radio in St. Vincent, then look no further. Also don't forget, if you like easy, like it smooth, or like old school.. he's your man. That's why he's the GRUVE MASTER. One of the most entertaining and charismatic radio dj's on air, Gruve has been rocking the airwaves for a good 7 years now. He keeps all the new, hot jams blazing, the old joints sounding as fresh as ever, and the listeners... well, just ask 'em, if given one word to describe him, they'd say "CLOWN". And not just those in Vincyland. Within a year, Gruve grew to become one of the more popular dj's on radio in Barbados. And after being a judge on one of the region biggest song competitions, Rising Stars, his face is also well known in St. Lucia, Greneda, Dominica and Trinidad & Tobago, and there are more tv appearances coming soon, so look out for him coming to a tv set near you across the wider caribbean. After completeing his studies in Mass Communication in Missouri, U.S.A. he took straight to the airwaves in SVG. Starting first at 99.9 WE-FM, then moving to HITZ 103.7fm, 98.1 The One in Barbados, and now back at 103.7 fm. Gruve loves Dancehall, Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggea, and of course, his favourite of all... SOCA!!! Why else would he be reffered to as the General in the Socaholic Army (big up Bim). And nothing gets him going more than the old school, especially ,of course, old soca. He would tell you, "you can't go wrong with a Stalin, Soso or Sparrow." For the past 3 to 4 years, Gruve has been a member of the most elite dj fraternity in the Caribbean, The Topgunners. With members spanning from Jamaica and the U.S.V.I in the north, to Trinidad & Tobago in the south.. and even outside the region, in Florida, New York and Toronto, Topgunners are usualyy the dj's on your favourite radio station playing the new hits first. Topgunners- You keep it locked, we keep it loaded (www.topgunners.net). And just a bit of advice to all u regular dancehall and nightclub dj's out there who think you can just jump on a radio station somewhere and do what you do... No dis-respect, but think again. There's rules to this game.
