About Me

Tony Nwachukwu is a modern day maverick.

He is known to many as the producer, beat programmer and keyboard player of Attica Blues; who apart from releasing two groundbreaking albums ‘blueprint’ (Mo’Wax) and ‘Test Don’t Test (Sony/Higher Ground) are known to have extended their talents as remixers to artists as diverse as Macy Gray, U.N.K.L.E, Robert Owens, DJ Cam, DJ Krush, Jazzanova, Spacek, Courtney Pine, Ben Folds, and labels Sonar Kollectiv, Mantis, Music for Speakers, Ninjatune, Earth Projects and 679.

To develop and release a unique blend of twisted beats, NEPA Recordings was created. To date he has released ‘the way’ under the name of NEPA Allstar, ‘you know what you’re supposed/need to do’ under the name of ‘WaH-cHU-kU’. Soon to be unleashed will be the long overdue ‘So Much Stronger EP’ featuring the vocals operatics of Imani Uzuri

A passion for new music and artistic development led him to found burntprogress, a production company that strives to explore the consciousness of electronic music producers. One such activities is a regular club night held in London; CDR

He can be heard djing his mix of hip-hop inspired rhythms, electronic fusions, broken beats and classic soulful electro can be heard regularly in clubs such as plastic people, fabric, herbal, and underground parties in Shoreditch, east London. He’s played alongside Dego, Trevor Jackson, Madlib, Phil Asher and members of the bugz

Having spent time writing producing and writing tracks for Wunmi and Randolph Matthews, Tony is putting finishing touches to his own Long Player….
