Sergio "Dj Surge" Trevino is a man on the move in the music industry. Having only spent a total of 9 years behind the decks in clubs, 7 years at the mixing desk in the studio, 6 years on stage at concerts, and 5 years behind the books acquiring a degree, Sergio, at only the ripe young age of 25, has developed the skills to be a serious player in the music scene. He has djed at many top venues including Marquee, Circus, Pure, Sky Bar, Crobar, Space, Peppermint Club, Amnesia, and White Lotus, just to name a few. He has a reputation for tight, yet funky driving sets that showcase a variety of styles on the cutting edge. Unique DMC style turntablism, house, reggaeton, booty and hip-hop all share the same sonic landscape when Sergio is at the wheels, seamlessly woven into unique sets that are at once melodic yet upbeat, bangin' yet surreal. Sergio has showcased his talents all over the world and has never let anyone down when it comes to rockin' a house and creating a night to remember.
Sergio re-located from his hometown of Lansing, Michigan to beautiful New York City, in pursuit of his career as a musician. Putting in the hard work, countless hours, and not to mention the many sacrifices along with becoming a musician, Sergio is emerging as one of the top up and coming djs in the industry today. Sergio's current project takes him down south to Texas, where his turntable and studio expertise is being put to use with a new group the "Kumbia All Starz". Also, Sergio is currently training for more than five scheduled, DMC style dj competitions coming up just around the corner. Including an attempt at the long road to becoming a World DMC Champion. But no matter where he goes, he creates quite a buzz with his infectious and funky crowd-pleasing dj sets. With that, Sergio has acquired many regular guest dj spots, including one, at one of New York City's hottest celebrity hangouts "Marquee", which was crowned by the New York Post as "... the hottest nightclub in the known universe...". So with many up and coming appearances all over the country (to be posted soon), you don't want to miss him.
Sergio's works, both solo and collaborative, have received support and kudos from many of the top artists, djs, and companies in the world, sharing the stage with artists such as A.B Quintanilla and Los Kumbia Kings, Kumbia All Starz, Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Lil' Wayne, Soulja Boy, and Akon. To djs: Dj Kos, Dj Kane, Dj AM, Dj A-Trak, and Dj JS-1. Plus companies such as Lowrider Magazine and Adidas.
Along with people enjoying his music, businesses are getting in on the action as well. Sergios' hard work has acquired him sponsorship from some major companies along the way, including Sony / BMG Music Entertainment, Adidas, Vestax, Red Bull, and Fiji Water.
